Cute tray

Here's a pic of the cool owl tray I got at a holiday bazaar here is Salmon. Its vintage. I thought it was pretty cool.

Not such a sucessful trip to Idaho Falls

I was on my way to Idaho Falls tonight and was almost to Leadore and I hit a humongous moose. It just appeared in front of me, I was going pretty slow thankfully, about 45. Anyway, it hit the windshield and I think that's about the only think that happened to the car. I am so lucky and think that Heavenly Father was watching out for me. Two guys saw the whole thing happen behind me and they stopped and helped me. They let me hang out at their place until Joe came to rescue me. He drove the car back to our house with the window hanging down on the passenger side. I'm actually really glad that Joe wasn't in the car with me because it all happened on the passenger side of the car. I thought about getting the car towed, but we didn't have towing insurance and it would have cost $210.00. No thank you. Anyway, I guess we were supposed to get a new windshield because it already had a crack in it, now we certainly have to. Here's some pics.

Moose hair in my back seat! Sick!

O Christmas Tree

We got our Christmas tree all decorated. Here's some not amazing pics, but they'll have to do. Also some pics of our house on the inside!

The Star is kind of crooked as is the top of the tree

Ginger

I'm pretty sure now that Ginger is a plott hound, heeler, labrador mix. I found this picture on the web of a lab/ plott hound mix, and she looks almost exactly like Ginger. The only difference is that she has some white on her chest and back feet from her heeler mother.

The Bed Battle

We've been trying to get Ginger to sleep on the bed we got her. So far its been a challenge. She stays on for a while and then tends to migrate...

She must have been having a crazy dream!

The bottom half's on...

now just her hind legs!

Ahh! What a good girl! back on her bed!

Ginger

Ginger came home to live with us yesterday! She is so cute and sweet, but a lot of work. We're thinking that this will be good training for us for becoming parents. I'm not sure I'm ready though...I woke up several times in the night wondering if she was ok and then this morning we heard her whining and thought she was in the living room, but she was actually right by the bed whining at us. She has had a couple of accidents but is not doing too bad. She is trying to go outside, but it has just been so cold that it is hard to get her out there. She got her first bath last night and her little claws trimmed. She takes a lot of naps which we love! We are trying to get her not to chew on us or other things in the house except her toys. It will take a while. She really is a good puppy though.

She looks like she's in trouble or something in this picture!

Don't you love our red carpet?

Puppy Love

We have great news! That's right.....we're getting a puppy! We are adopting her from the animal shelter here in Salmon. We get to bring her home after Thanksgiving. Her mom is a heeler and they have no idea what the dad is, but all the pups look different. I had no idea that one puppy could have more than one father. Anyway, they don't look much like their mom. We are going to name her Ginger. Here are some pics of us with Ginger at the animal shelter.

She is so sweet! We are excited to bring her home!!

Oh DEER!

There are so many deer around this area. We have them in our yard almost every day. They also hang around in town. Anyway, I'm sure we'll get sick of them but the novelty hasn't quite worn off yet. I just hope I never hit one on my way to and from work! Here are some pics!

Our first home in Salmon

I wanted to post a few pictures of the place we are renting here in Salmon. We are really liking it even thought there are a few downsides, the biggest being flies! The flies have been so bad that we really feel we are at war with them, I thought if we don't get rid of them soon they are going to drive me crazy. Luckily we are going to have them sprayed. Also Joe found a couple of dead mice under a drawer in his music room. Disgusting! I'm so glad it wasn't me that found them. We are using wood as our main source of heat. Now that Joe got the chimney swept and we don't have a lot of smoke coming in the house I like it a lot. The place is a four bedroom (the upstairs bedrooms are pretty small). It's so nice to be in a house and have enough space! We live about 13 miles outside of town - not too far. I'll post more pictures of the inside of the house when we have all our pictures up. I've been a bit lazy in getting those up.
Detached garage! Wahoo! No more scraping windows before work!

Fall Drive

A while ago we took a drive in the south hills to see some of the amazing fall colors. Joe had fun going off-roading, and I love the pictures we got! On the way back on the paved road to Kimberly (after all the gnarly rocks and ruts and all that) the back window to the shell on the truck just decided to fall off! Amazingly when we went back the window wasn't even broken! I'm not sure how we will attach it again, but oh well! Here's some of the pictures.

Another bib

So here's the latest knitting project I did. This one is for my nephew Jonas for Christmas. I get these patterns from Ravelry.com. The lady whose patterns they are is Elaine Fitzpatrick, who goes by cloverlaine on that site. Anyway, just thought I'd give credit where it was due. These are really fun to make. I like doing them when I'm watching a movie. Its kind of hard to tell what it is from the picture. I'm not sure why I can't get a great one with my camera, anyway, it is a reindeer.

Knitted bib

I just wanted to show off the bib I made for my nephew Finn for Halloween. It was a lot of fun to make! I am really liking knitting. It is relaxing and helps me feel like I'm accomplishing something!

dishcloths

I made four dishcloths for my cousin Lindsay. She just got married on Friday and I'm very excited for her! Anyway, I thought it would be fun to try to knit her some dishcloths. The "O" ones stand for the first letter in her new last name...I try to be clever sometimes.... So I hope she likes them and I want to tell her congratulations!!!

I have found that knitting can be very relaxing. It also helped me stay awake during conference this weekend, which by the way, was very amazing!

Homecoming princess

Jackie got voted in as Kimberly High School sophomore homecoming princess! She looks so beautiful in her dress. We watched her in the parade and then at half time at the game.

Cross-Country Meet

Jackie is in cross-country this year. She is pretty much amazing because I would never have done anything like that in high school. Anyway, the day of this meet, it was very hot outside! Jackie did a great job. She was one of the better runners! Here are some pics!

After the race. Jackie will probably hate me for this one, but I wish I had a pic like this that I could show off! Love ya Jackie!

blanket toy

I made this little blanket toy for Ellie. She is such a sweet baby! Anyway, I put a candy bag in it so that it would have a crinkle sound. It was a fun project.

Watch out world!

Jackie finally got her driver's license! She was pretty excited. This is the lovely car she gets to drive, the famous Swift. It is great that she got brave enough to drive it to school (it's a standard) we don't have to take her! Congratulations Jackie! Now we can't wait until November when she can drive by herself at night! :-)

Visitors

My parents came to visit us one weekend this month. It was so good to see them and get to spend some time together. Mom and I mostly went shopping. As most probably know, Joe despises shopping, so he and my dad went on a hike and to see some of the outdoor sites around the area. I only have pictures from their hike so I thought I would post some.

A lizard they saw, I thought this picture was pretty awesome!

My Nephews

Thought I should post some stuff since Katie is upset that I haven't posted for a while. So Katie, this is for you! Rachel and Jonas came for Nikole and Bert's wedding in August. Here are some pics of all my nephews from then. It was fun to see them all together!

Jonas - He's so cute, and getting so big!
