Yes, it's time for a new post

I never update of here because I feel like I never have anything new to say. Anyway...

The last couple months have been pretty crazy. I think I passed all of my finals! Also, I passed all of my skills tests in clinic this semester on the first try! I was pretty excited and happy about that since I didn't even pass one off at all last year. No more Junior fall semester of dental hygiene for me. I think I have it down now!!!

I start to work on patients next semester. If anyone needs their teeth cleaned talk to me!! I have to find all of my own patients. It is a lot cheaper than going to your dentist too!

On a sad note, our dwarf hamster Isabelle died last Thursday. We had her for 2 1/2 years. She was a good pet to us and we'll miss her. I think we will be getting a couple more after we are done traveling for Christmas.

I found out that I have to get jaw surgery this summer. Fun for me. I also have to get braces...again. wahoo!! My mouth is costing us a fortune. Literally like $20,000 after its all said and done. Too bad it couldn't have happened after I start working for a dentist and making some money. Instead it had to come at the poorest time of our lives. Oh well that's life right.

Anyway, I'm trying not to think too much about all of that and Joe's health problems. I'm trying to focus on the excitement of Christmas! We are going to be at Joe's parent's for Christmas this year. I just hope we can get down there with all the snow we've been getting. I have all of my Christmas shopping done. I just have to finish making my sister-in-law's present. We even got Christmas cards this year. Even though I hate Walmart I love their prices. We were able to get 40 photo cards for under $14! The picture on them is the one that is in my header now.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Update...Update...

I haven't posted anything for quite a while so I thought I would take some time to do an update. I never feel like my life is very exciting and especially not anything that anyone else really wants to hear about so I have a hard time feeling excited about posting. I'm here at work though with nothing to do so I'll have a go at it.

School is going really well so far. Midterms just got over and they all went smoothly! We are starting instrumentation now in clinic. It's the part of the semester that I've been most worried about. Hopefully I will be able to pass!

Last Friday I got my upper wisdom teeth out and a soft tissue graft on the lower front teeth. It has not been the most fun times, but I'm so grateful for pain killers. There is no way that I would be able to keep doing what I need to without them! Things are healing up well though and in one more week I can eat with my front teeth and brush there too.

Joe and I are excited because we are going to have a new niece or nephew in a few months. My sister-in-law Rachel is 2 months pregnant! I'm so excited for them. Congratulations!

My sister Katie is going to be having a birthday on October 30th. She will be 22. She is getting excited and a bit nervous because her missionary will be coming home from his mission in New Zealand in February. I think really that she will be relieved because long distance relationships stink.

My other sister Abby has a really great boyfriend named Nate. He just got his mission call to Seoul South Korea. He will be leaving in December. Abby thinks she is going to wait for him (which none of us would mind), but we'll see what happens. She is in her senior year of high school still and a lot can happen in two years!!

Joe has been staying fairly busy with his band Greyhouse Effect. They played Thursday night at guitars unplugged at ISU and won second place! I'm so proud of them, especially since it is such a popularity contest and not really based as much on how good you are. I think that they are really talented and I am glad that Joe gets to do something that he really enjoys doing.

I'm getting excited for the holidays. I keep wanting to decorate for Halloween, but so far have been too lazy to drag the decorations out. Hopefully I get to it soon or its not going to happen. This year we will be having Thanksgiving at my parents and Christmas at Joe's. It will be my second Christmas away from home. I really love Joe's family and I have a great time, but it is always starnge to not be with the family I grew up with at Christmas. At least we will get to visit during Christmas break though.

Other than that, nothing new is really going on. When I'm in school I feel like the rest of my life just kind of goes on by. I will be excited when I finally finish (2010) and can actually have a life and maybe start a family!

Happy Times

So school is going really well for me so far. I was dreading going back to school because I am basically starting over again. I wasn't too excited to have to meet all new people and explain my situation and feel dumb. It's going much better than I thought it would though. I don't mind helping people, it actually helps me cement the concepts in my mind. I am also much better than the first time around and it feels good to know what I'm doing.

I have also been proud of myself because I have been riding my bike to school everyday. Its good exercise. I am also taking a hatha yoga class which I think I'm going to love. I'm taking an institute class too. I think if I finish this class that I might have enough credits to graduate institute. This hasn't been a huge priority for me but I think it would be cool to say that I graduated from institute. I think I've signed up for an exercise class and institute almost every semester and since I've been married I've dropped them both almost every time. I'm committed to finishing them this time!

Last weekend we went to Twin Falls for Joe's cousin Christy's wedding. She got married in the Twin Falls temple, one of the first weddings. It was so crowded at the sealing! Their reception was beautiful. Conrgats guys!

Its really good to be back in a routine. I don't have as many classes as the other people in my program because I didn't have to retake all of them. It's nice because I have a little down time. I'm getting much more accomplished than I did this summer even though I have a lot more to do. It's funny how that works sometimes. Having too much time on my hands makes me sooo lazy.

Anyhoo, that's all the news for now!

Hunt Happenings

A lot has been going on this month for us. August 1st we went to Idaho Falls to be at my cousin's wedding. Christie and Joey were married in the Idaho Falls temple. It was pretty awesome. Their reception was beautiful! The next day we went to Twin Falls for another wedding. Joe's friends Mike and Christy were married in the Twin Falls park. Congratulations guys!

I then went on an unexpected trip to Oregon with my dad. My great grandma passed away and we went to her funeral. She was 98 years old! I'll miss her, but look forward to the day that I can see her again. Even though the reason for the trip wasn't the happiest, it was a good trip. I got to see a lot of family that I hadn't seen for a few years.

August 12th was Joe's birthday! Twenty nine years old! He had to play a show that night so we didn't do much but I did make him a banana cream pie - his favorite!

August 13th was our third wedding anniversary. Sometimes it seems like its been a lot longer than that, but not in a bad way. We went to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. Joe doesn't like country music so its not his favorite place, but he was so nice to take me anyway!

Now, I'm just trying to gear myself up for school again. I start next Friday, the 22nd which is also my little sister Abby's birthday. She will be 18! I really can't believe that she is that old. Anyway, I'm ready to start again I think. I haven't had enough to do this summer and have been super lazy. I just need to get my house cleaned and stuff so I don't have to worry about it on the first days of school!

Oh! My family stopped by on their way to Twin Falls yesterday and brought me the copy of Breaking Dawn that they have. I've been reading it almost constantly since. Its very good so far, but I do have to say a little disturbing!

Twin Falls Temple

I also wanted to say that Joe and I, his friend, and his parents went to the Twin Falls Temple Open House on Monday! It was amazing! I went to the Rexburg open house too and even though the two look a lot alike on the outside, they are totally different on the inside. If you get the chance to go and see it you should!

I am very excited because Joe's cousin is getting married in the Twin Falls temple two days after it is dedicated and is getting her endowment the day after it is dedicated. I'm so excited to be there and happy for them that their day will be even more exciting and special!

Rain and Marshmallows

Joe and I went to Kimberly for a couple of days to visit a friend of his and his family. Yesterday we decided that we wanted to go to the hills to have a picnic. I was all for it the whole day until there was a big thunderstorm and lots of rain. I ended up going with them anyway and was miserable for the first part of the trip. It was pouring and I had capris on and my sweatshirt got soaked. I do like the rain but if I'm going to be out in it for any period of time I like to have some kind of shelter. We did manage to have a fire, but what good does the fire do if you're still getting wet standing by it?

Anyway, the rain finally stopped and our friend came up with the idea that we should fling flaming marshmallows. Since it had been raining so hard it was okay because we weren't going to catch anything on fire. We all flung the whole bag of marshmallows. Our friend flung one that stuck on the side of a tree, which was pretty funny. Joe was trying to fling one and it landed on his shirt instead which was hilarious. Luckily he didn't start on fire or anything.

I guess it turned out ok, even though I would have had a lot more fun if we had had a tent or something up there with us.

I've been reading Emma by Jane Austen and they are always so worried that the women are going to catch a cold from a draft or something. I think its funny how different times are. No one really worries that they will have health problems from being out in the rain. Probably because modern medicine is so much better! I guess we're lucky!

Camel Spiders

So, I'm new to this blog thing and I'm not sure if I like it or not. I have seen others blogs and don't think that mine can measure up to how great everyone else's is!

I called my mom today and she told me that my sister Abby's boyfriend (Nate) was at his mother's apartment when something scary started to chase him. He caught it in a jar and took it to my parents house. Well, it was a camel spider. They come from Iraq in people's equipment. I looked it up online and was horrified! I hope I never ever see one. They are not poisonous but they are flesh eaters!
