Summer is almost over...lame

Well, I haven't blogged in a while and thought I should update, especially since I won't have time in about a week when school starts.

I went to girl's camp with my ward at the end of July. We went to West Piney and had a lot of fun. We got a ward day on Wednesday and we went to Jackson to do some shopping and then to Granite Hot Springs for some swimming. I think that the girls had a good time and we didn't have many squabbles or health problems. I have to say it was a success! I am glad that I got to know all of the young women in the ward!

We went to Cave Falls with my family on the 7th of this month. It was fun but also a little disappointing because the cave had caved in. We found some huckleberries though which were yummy!

My parents took us to Lava Hot Springs on the 10th. We went on the awesome new water slides they have there. I would highly recommend it to anyone! The prices are very reasonable!

August 12 Joe turned the big 30! We celebrated his birthday on Saturday at his parent's house. We had a lunch with some family (biscuits and gravy) and then went to hike around Vinyard Lake with his sisters Nikole and Jackie. We went back to the house for a dinner of won tons and cheesecake! Joe got a little spoiled with the food.

The 13th was our 4th wedding anniversary. It was a good day. We went camping at Big Springs near Lava. I am so grateful for my awesome husband. He tries really hard to make me happy and I think things are getting better for us all the time.

I got a new calling today. I will be the primary chorister. I hope I do a good job. I think it will be fun!

I've been keeping very busy even though I haven't been working much this last little bit. I'm kind of grateful for the break I've had before I have to start school again. Wish me luck with this semester!

Life

Sometimes I start to think, I'm not sure if life can get any harder than it already is. Just when I start to think like that, guess what? Life gets harder. A week ago I found out that I am getting laid off from my job which is our only source of income at the moment and has been for three years. I've been frustrated because I don't think I'll really be able to get much of a job for a month and a half until school starts again, and then there's finding a job I can doing during the school year. I keep wondering why and how much I can take, never thinking that I can take anymore, but amazingly I do.

I know that this life is the time that we get tested and tried, but its really hard sometimes. I am glad that I have resources that I can lean on in these hard times, like the church, my family - I just like to do it by myself. Maybe that's what I'm being tested on, humility and letting others help me.

So I'm looking for work and I at least found a job helping an old lady weed her flower beds, nothing big, but I can tell that Heavenly Father is watching out for me and not letting me be stretched beyond my limits. I'm just hoping that soon I can see this as a blessing in disguise.

4th of July weekend

We went camping and to Craters of the Moon for this 4th of July weekend. We went to Willow Creek with Joe's brother and sister-in-law, our two nephews, his grandparents, his parents, and his aunt and uncle. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad we got to go.

We went on a four wheeler ride to Marsh Creek. It was a blast. We saw a deer, a fox, and plenty of chipmunks on our ride!

On our way back home we stopped at Craters of the Moon. We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time there, but we're planning on going back sometime. It was pretty cool.

Here's a picture of the cave we went in - Boy Scout Cave. There was quite a bit of ice in it.

The weekend was really nice. I hope all of yours were too!

Another WEDDING!

I can finally announce it... my youngest sister Abby is getting married! She just got officially engaged last night. Her and her fiance Nathan are getting married on August 28th! Here's some picture of the dresses she tried on about a week ago. Can anyone guess which one she got? Oh and don't tell Nate because he's not supposed to see the dress yet.

This will be the second wedding this year for our family and both of my sisters will be married. Christmas this year will definately be different!

retro apron

Here's a picture of the new haircut I got today and the apron that I made. It looks kind of goofy because in order to get a picture that wasn't really blurry, Joe had to set the camera on the floor, hence my leaning over. Anyway, I guess you get the idea.

I told Joe I had to take another picture because he didn't get the cutest part of the apron in it, the ric-rac at the bottom!

Here's a picture of the purse I made yesterday. It's definitely not perfect but you can't tell that from the picture! Actually it turned out pretty good for a first attempt. Sorry the picture isn't great. My camera isn't the best.

Isn't he sweet!

One more thing

One more thing before I get to write about it. My youngest sister Abby graduated from Skyline High School on June 1st. I can't believe that she is that old! She is planning on going to school at BYU-I in the fall. I'm not sure what my parents are going to do with everyone out of the house...probably rejoice! I just wanted to tell Abby Congratulations!

Also Joe's brother Allen graduated on May 27th from Kimberly High School. Congratulations Al! I Think that he is going to be going to CSI for a year and then serve an LDS mission.

Both of the graduations turned out good. Neither one of them tripped or anything! :-)

Katie Marie Johnson

If any of you would like to see pictures of my little sister Katie's wedding, I am going to post some links. Alisha Siddoway did her wedding pictures and did an amazing job. This is the link to the first post. And this one is for the rest of the pictures. Enjoy!

Blythe

I was cruzing the internet the other day and I found these really cool dolls called Blythe. The have changeable eyes and hair and lots of cool clothes. Too bad they're so expensive. If I had the money though I would be collecting these.

Finally Something New

I keep putting off posting anything because I wanted to put pictures in with it. All my pictures are on my home computer and really the only time I have to blog is at work. I know, it seems kind of backwards. So here I am at work again and I just decided I better post something anyway. Hopefully I can get pics up later.

School is out! Yay! This last semester went really well for me, thankfully. I finished the semester with really good grades and an A in clinic! I only have a year left now and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. This next year is going to be crazy. I think it will go by fast. I just keep thinking about how strange it will be to not be going to school anymore in a year. I will have to enter the real world. My life will be completely different. I don't think that we will be in Pocatello, I'm not sure where we'll be. It's exciting that we will be able to move on with our lives.

Joe and I went camping over memorial day weekend. We were going to go to Yellowstone with my sister and brother-in-law, but the weather report said it would be really cold there. Instead we went to Wolverine Canyon, near Firth. It was really pretty there and we got a pretty good spot. My Aunt Deanna came, Katie, Adam, and my cousin Morgan. It was a nice way to kick off the summer. There was a little rain, but nothing too bad. All in all it turned out to be a good time!

When we got home from the camping trip we found out that Joe's sister Rachel had her baby. My new nephew's name is Jonas. He is so sweet and cute. We got to go visit him a couple of days after he was born. I think I get to see him again tonight. I'm a little sad though because they are moving to New York City this weekend. Too bad we can't go visit them there. That would be a blast.

We decided to move from a University ward to a family ward. I am liking it pretty well. I just got a calling. I'm going to be helping out with girl's camp in July. I really hated girl's camp when I was that age, but I think that I'm really going to enjoy it now. I'm excited! It's nice to be in a ward that you have the opportunity to do things like this. There are people of all ages here- its great! Also sacrament meeting is a lot quiter, not as many screaming babies.

I have a bunch of projects that I'm working on right now. I started a quilt a couple of summers ago and I finally have time to work on it again. I am hoping that I can finish it this summer. I also got a bunch of cute patterns that I am going to be trying out. I already made a pair of pajama shorts that turned out pretty good, after I unpicked the whole thing and decided not to follow the instructions that were included in the pattern. They were really confusing. I am also going to be working on a purse, some scrubs, an apron and maybe some pincushinons with the leftover fabric I have. Who knows how much of this I'll actually get done. Its pretty ambitious.

I have a lot of free time at work. I have been trying to make good use of my time. One thing I do is Family Search Indexing. Its actually pretty cool. There are images of all different kinds of records like census, marriages, births, and deaths and you basically transcribe them. My dad has done extensive geneological work on both sides of my family so I have never known what I could do to contribute to this work. This is something that I can do that will help other people looking for their ancestors. If you are interested in doing this you can go to this site: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/indexing/frameset_indexing.asp

One of my friends started a club called the lil' baker's club. What we do is make goodies and other things and then donate them to different places around town. It is a lot of fun. Anyone who is interested should go to this blog : http://lilbakerclub.blogspot.com/

Anyway, I'm just trying to stay busy this summer, since it's the last "real" summer that I get. No more of that after school is over. Don't worry though because I'm also doing quite a bit of sleeping in! :-)

Wedding!

My younger sister Katie is getting married...finally. I say finally because we've had to listen to her complain for two years while her now fiance was on a mission. He got back last Tuesday and he proposed on Friday...he wanted to the day he got home, but he waited. Now everyone is going crazy trying to get the wedding planned and ready for April 3rd. Less than a month and a half. Even though it's crazy fast I'm excited and happy for them, and now I don't get to listen to her complain about him being gone anymore. Too bad my other sister just sent out a missionary in December that I'm pretty sure is going to wait for him too! Such is life I guess!

Perfect Pads

I just wanted to tell you all about this product that I think is great and that saves me a lot of money every month! It is cloth menstrual pads. They work really well and are so much more comfortable than disposable pads. Plus they are great for emergency preparation and the environment! New Year, New Semester

I'm really excited for this new year. I hope things go well for us. Joe just finished making his demo CD. I'm really excited for him and hope he can sell them and also use them to get some paying gigs! He put a lot of work into this project and I'm proud of the way the CD turned out.

I started a new semester. I'm excited and also really nervous for what it brings. We get to do a lot of fun new things, like taking impressions on each other and doing radiographs. We also get to start working on patients. This is the part I'm really nervous about, but also excited to finally start doing what I will be doing for my career.

On January 2nd we got two baby dwarf hamsters. We hope they are both girls because we don't want a hamster farm! They were still too little to tell for sure. We names them Penny and Pearl. They are so cute and fun!

That's really what's new for us. I am glad to be back on a schedule again and busy. When I have lots of free time I don't get anything done! I hope all of you are doing great!
