Ginger

I'm pretty sure now that Ginger is a plott hound, heeler, labrador mix. I found this picture on the web of a lab/ plott hound mix, and she looks almost exactly like Ginger. The only difference is that she has some white on her chest and back feet from her heeler mother.

The Bed Battle

We've been trying to get Ginger to sleep on the bed we got her. So far its been a challenge. She stays on for a while and then tends to migrate...

She must have been having a crazy dream!

The bottom half's on...

now just her hind legs!

Ahh! What a good girl! back on her bed!

Ginger

Ginger came home to live with us yesterday! She is so cute and sweet, but a lot of work. We're thinking that this will be good training for us for becoming parents. I'm not sure I'm ready though...I woke up several times in the night wondering if she was ok and then this morning we heard her whining and thought she was in the living room, but she was actually right by the bed whining at us. She has had a couple of accidents but is not doing too bad. She is trying to go outside, but it has just been so cold that it is hard to get her out there. She got her first bath last night and her little claws trimmed. She takes a lot of naps which we love! We are trying to get her not to chew on us or other things in the house except her toys. It will take a while. She really is a good puppy though.

She looks like she's in trouble or something in this picture!

Don't you love our red carpet?

Puppy Love

We have great news! That's right.....we're getting a puppy! We are adopting her from the animal shelter here in Salmon. We get to bring her home after Thanksgiving. Her mom is a heeler and they have no idea what the dad is, but all the pups look different. I had no idea that one puppy could have more than one father. Anyway, they don't look much like their mom. We are going to name her Ginger. Here are some pics of us with Ginger at the animal shelter.

She is so sweet! We are excited to bring her home!!

Oh DEER!

There are so many deer around this area. We have them in our yard almost every day. They also hang around in town. Anyway, I'm sure we'll get sick of them but the novelty hasn't quite worn off yet. I just hope I never hit one on my way to and from work! Here are some pics!

Our first home in Salmon

I wanted to post a few pictures of the place we are renting here in Salmon. We are really liking it even thought there are a few downsides, the biggest being flies! The flies have been so bad that we really feel we are at war with them, I thought if we don't get rid of them soon they are going to drive me crazy. Luckily we are going to have them sprayed. Also Joe found a couple of dead mice under a drawer in his music room. Disgusting! I'm so glad it wasn't me that found them. We are using wood as our main source of heat. Now that Joe got the chimney swept and we don't have a lot of smoke coming in the house I like it a lot. The place is a four bedroom (the upstairs bedrooms are pretty small). It's so nice to be in a house and have enough space! We live about 13 miles outside of town - not too far. I'll post more pictures of the inside of the house when we have all our pictures up. I've been a bit lazy in getting those up.
Detached garage! Wahoo! No more scraping windows before work!

The Continental Divide to our east

Flies in the sink a couple of hours after I got rid of all of them

Flies in the bathroom - This is the second full fly paper since last week when we got fly paper!
